Top Reasons People Work From Home By: Tammy Florczak Stress is an all-too-frequent issue in today’s society. Many people work themselves to death trying to achieve what others expect of them. Companies are under pressure to make things “bigger and better” and their workers are constantly striving to meet impossible deadlines and expectations. It is easy to buy into the idea that this is all there is and that it couldn’t get any better. However that is clearly a lie. Telecommuting and working from home is becoming popular as more and more people are getting tired of the rat race. Making your own hours, being your own boss and running your own business is no longer a pipe dream. The Internet and recent efforts in marketing and networking are making the process of starting a new business quite easy and attainable. Escaping the stress of a corporate job is, of course, not the only reason why people choose to work from home. There are many other factors and reasons that play into a person’s choice to find a telecommuting job. First off, many telecommuters are now finding that it is possible to achieve their dreams and passions. For many people, the cost of not pursuing those dreams is greater than the risk involved in pursuing them. Everyone has a niche to fill; everyone is gifted in one particular skill or another. The notion that a person can be truly happy in their job is becoming a reality for many people. Telecommuting makes that possible. Work at home opportunities such as those listed on www.home-employment.com, offer the telecommuter so many possibilities and opportunities to use their time and talents. Secondly, another thing that makes telecommuting attractive to many people is the flexibility it provides. The contractor is able to set their own hours – when they want to work, how long they want to work and what they want to accomplish. The contractor is also able to negotiate salary and benefits if the client is open to that factor. There is flexibility in time. In other words, when a contractor is working for himself or herself, there is no need to check in with a manager when he or she wants to take a vacation. There are also no other employees to compete with on the vacation schedule. Third, the moneymaking potential is completely up to the independent contractor. Oftentimes, if the contractor wants to make a higher end salary, many more than average hours need to be put in on the workday. Telecommuting can be a 9 to 5 job, but very often, it’s not. If the contractor wants to be successful in their business, there are many sacrifices that need to be made – especially in the time department. However, the potential to make a higher salary than one would make in the workplace, is the selling point for many people and very much worth the sacrifice. There is literally no limit depending on one’s skills, their desire to learn and desire for success. The sky is essentially the limit. Lastly there are benefits for the telecommuter with certain opportunities. Should one decide to become a mystery shopper, it is possible to expense dinners and entertainment excursions in exchange for writing reviews. Many opportunities are very easy to get involved in or to accomplish. Taking pictures with your digital camera, testing or assembling products in your home, even stuffing envelopes can be fun things to do or hobbies that can earn you residual income. Having an open mind and the ability to exercise creativity when choosing and accomplishing work-at-home tasks is key to the telecommuting venture. With a little bit of effort and self-assurance, anyone can achieve their dreams and be successful.
